Boston, June 5, 2014—Massachusetts DCF has indicated that they will not oppose Liberty Counsel’s motion seeking Justina’s immediate release. DCF is also reportedly in the process of filing a motion to dismiss the case against the Pelletiers, paving way for Justina’s return.

During an hour-long meeting between HHS Secretary Polanowicz and Pelletier family spokesperson Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Secretary Polanowicz indicated that the motion to dismiss the complaints against the Pelletier family will be filed shortly. After this motion is filed, there can be no further reason to prevent Justina from returning home to her family.

Family spokesperson, Rev. Patrick Mahoney said, “Our hope and prayer is that this 16 month tragedy, caused by the unjust removal of Justina from her home, is coming to an end. We anxiously await DCF’s decision to drop the case against the Pelletiers. Since the Pelletiers have completed the requirements of the reunification plan put forward by DCF and HHS, the path is open for Justina’s return back into the loving arms of her family.”

“But we will not rest until Justina is returned home,” Mahoney continued. “We will continue to speak out with passion to all parties who have the power to free Justina and allow her to finally return home.”
