BOSTON, June 9, 2014\u2014For the first time, publicly, in her own words, Justina Pelletier asks Judge Joseph Johnston and Governor Deval Patrick to allow her to return home to her friends and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll I want is to be with my family and my friends back home right now,\u201d said 16-year-old Justina Pelletier in the video. \u201cYou can do it. You\u2019re the one that\u2019s judging us. Please let me go home Judge Johnston and Governor Patrick. Please!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reverend Patrick Mahoney, spokesperson for the Pelletier family, commented, \u201cThrough the entire 16 months of this tragedy, the one person we\u2019ve not heard from publicly is Justina herself. Now we can see her in her own words asking Judge Jonston and Governor Patrick for her release.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mahoney continued, \u201cSince the Pelletiers have completed the reunification plan and DCF has filed for dismissal of the case, there\u2019s no reason why her release should be delayed one more day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI need to be home with my family,\u201d Justina pled. \u201cPlease let me go home right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Free Justina Coalition is concerned that Justina Pelletier\u2019s basic personhood rights and her dignity as a human being have been violated for the past 16 months. Her family and allies continue to call upon authorities for her immediate release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
